12:06:12 PM | Jason Hunter] Thought for the Day If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. -Red Green Show Local Dental Software user, Karen Albright discovered recently that the Dental Rebuild utility isn’t the cure-all that she once thought it was. “I was getting this error that said that I had to ‘renew’ or something like that. I had gotten errors before and called Dental Support and they just had me run a ‘rebuild’ or ‘reindex’ or something. I figured this was the same thing.” Karen, who has worked at Dr. Gilbert’s office for 6 months now, and feels fairly confident about “using a mouse” and “Wording”, considered herself computer-savvy enough to try to fix it on her own. “Any time I call Support, they tell me the same thing. ‘We’ll need to make sure that we have a backup, and then run a rebuild’, Karen said, imitating a Dental Tech. “So I decided just to run it on my own. It went through and didn’t tell me that there were any errors, so I thought everything was ok. It wasn’t. My problem was still there.” A quick call to Dental Support determined that her “renew” error wasn’t actually an error at all, but an email address from Cosmopolitan magazine telling her that it was time to renew her subscription. “I didn’t open the email,” Karen explained, “I saw “renew” in the description and panicked. I didn’t want to click on anything that I shouldn’t. So that’s why I ran the rebuild. Next time, I’ll call Dental first.” As it is, the problem wasn’t
Dental-Related at all, but Dental Support Tech, Carl Addington was pleased
to help her figure it out anyway. “That’s what I love about
this job: helping people.” Cade commented. “Sometimes we get
some people that just need more help than others.” |
