| My life is complicated.
If you were to come up to me on the street and ask me how my life was, I
would probably run away unless you could catch me or corner me in an alley
and then I would ask you why you wanted to know. Strangers don’t usually
just come up to me on the street and ask me things like that. Once I got
to know you, I would tell you that my life is complicated. It isn’t
nearly as complicated as Peter Parker as Spiderman, but it is close. I have
my own secret identities. There are also plenty of skeletons in my closet…
buried under the house too. Believe me, they all deserved what they got.
I kinda relate to John Cusak’s character in Grosse Point Blanke when
he says “If I show up at your door, chances are you did something
to bring me there”.
You may think that I am the perfect guy. That is because I have told you that over and over until you started to believe it. My "guyness" comes from years of study. I looked around and saw what people didn’t like about guys and made sure that I never did those things. I could have looked around and tried to find examples of what to do, rather than what not to do, but it turns out that there aren’t a lot of good examples out there. Oh, I do things I shouldn’t, trust me. But whenever I do something wrong, someone is always there to let me know about it. So I try to change. Basically, my life has been a big learning experience that has been made possible by lots of negative reinforcement. I take credit for who I am, both good and bad. I have lots of influence for good and bad all around me, but I was ultimately the one who decided which influences would affect me. I do not take credit for anyone else’s accomplishments or failures, and no one else can take credit for mine. The only exception to this, of course, is my Heavenly Father. I give all credit to Him ultimately, as He has given me everything that has made me who I am. I do not believe that He is up there pulling strings to control my life, but I do believe that He is intimately involved in my life and give me opportunities and blessings that I cannot take credit for. My life has one main focus:
enjoyment. I think that I am a hedonist by nature. I have hedonistic traits
that show themselves on personality tests. I also had a handwriting expert
look at my writing and tell me the same thing. She was dead-on about a
lot of things. I had never had my handwriting analyzed, but I thought
it was really cool. I love to enjoy life. I hate to think of life as some
drudgery that we just have to get through. My workday can be like that
sometimes, but not my life. I work so that I can have money in order to
do things that I enjoy. I enjoy a lot of different things. I even enjoy
just sitting still and observing things. My hobbies are varied and I am
always looking for the next thing to enjoy. This whole website is about
me, my thinking, my actions, etc. Take a look around. I will be adding
